FAQ's
Most clients find the treatment very tolerable. You may experience a mild warming, tingling, or prickling sensation during the procedure, but any discomfort is usually minimal and temporary.
Common short-term side effects include redness, swelling, small carbon crusts (dots), and a sensation similar to sunburn, which settle as the skin heals. Bruising, temporary skin discolouration, and mild discomfort can occur and usually resolve with proper aftercare. As with any aesthetic procedure, there is a small risk of infection, scarring, or pigmentation changes, which is minimised by following professional aftercare instructions and attending with a qualified practitioner.
Treatment, including the consultation and preparation, usually takes around 60–90 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
This treatment can be customised very easily to all skin types. Some contraindications for Plasma Pen treatment include pregnancy or breastfeeding, active skin infections, open wounds in the treatment area, certain autoimmune conditions, a history of keloid scarring, uncontrolled diabetes, recent use of isotretinoin (Accutane), and some skin types that may be at a higher risk of pigmentation changes. The practitioner will review your medical history during the consultation to make sure the treatment is safe and suitable for you.
Initial tightening can be noticed once the area has healed. Most clients begin to see visible lifting and smoothing from around 2–3 weeks post-treatment, with continued improvement over several weeks as new collagen forms.
Results can last for years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and aging process. Following aftercare instructions, using SPF daily, maintaining a good skincare routine, and avoiding excessive sun exposure will help prolong results. Maintenance or top-up treatments may be recommended if needed.
